OUR TEAM
James Pickering
Clinical Director
Having trained at the European School of Osteopathy and headed clinical teams in Kent and East Sussex, James Pickering is a forward-thinking practitioner whose priority is to achieve the best outcomes for his patients.
Trusted and respected by patients and peers alike, James has a wealth of experience in all musculoskeletal issues, with proven expertise in spinal disc conditions and associated nerve pain. Back pain, neck pain and sciatica sufferers travel across the South East to be treated at Wealden Osteopaths and Spine Centre - the only approved IDD Therapy Clinic in the Weald of Kent and East Sussex.
Now retired as a hands-on osteopath, James is still excited about the capabilities of non-invasive spinal care; he’s devoted to finding solutions which free sufferers from a merry-go-round of painkillers, GP visits and invasive procedures such as injections and surgery. He says:
"Many sufferers have tried lots of different treatments without success; for some it feels like they've run out of options. But with hands-on osteopathy and gentle and effective treatments like IDD Therapy, our patients finally have a programme of care which can resolve or significantly improve their long term pain and mobility."

Samuel Bayford
Physiotherapist
Samuel graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy from the University of East London, where he developed a particular interest in musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy. He is passionate about helping patients reduce pain, improve movement and function, and return to the activities that are important to them. Samuel also offers sports massage.
He provides physiotherapy assessment and treatment, injury rehabilitation and post-operative rehabilitation. Taking a patient-centred approach, working with each individual to understand their goals and develop a rehabilitation plan suited to their needs.
His passion for physiotherapy began through his own experience as a footballer. Having worked regularly with physiotherapists throughout his playing career, he experienced first-hand the positive impact they have on recovery and returning to sport. This has given him a valuable understanding of the patient experience and the importance of making rehabilitation both effective and achievable. Outside of the clinic, he continues to play semi-professional football and enjoys keeping active.
If back pain is having a negative impact on your life, don’t suffer any longer.
